Mary Kathleen Turner is an American film and stage actress and director and made her film debut in 1981 in the thriller Body Heat. She was named one of the sexiest stars in film story and has been compared to a young Lauren Bacall.
Turner became a star and co-starred Romancing the Stone, and The Jewel of the Nile with Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito. Prizzi’s Honor with Jack Nicholson and Peggy Sue got married with Nicholas Cage. He received a nomination for Best Actress.

Turner’s movie career went into rapid decline because of a rheumatoid arthritis which reduced her activities. Her diseases worsened and drugs and medication altered her look. Thanks to new treatments her arthritis went into remission and she played Chandler Bing’s gay father in Friends.
