Today is Gwyneth Paltrow’s birthday. She was born in Los Angeles, daughter of the actress Blythe Danner and the film producer director Bruce Paltrow. She debuted in High in 1989, a TV film directed by her father and spent some years watching her mother performing at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachussetts.

Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kevin Spacey starred this thriller film directed by David Fincher. A young detective partnering with the retiring detective are tracking down a serial killer. It was released in 1995.

Shakespeare in love, 1998                 

Gwyneth won the Academy Award for Best Actress for this romantic movie which also won the Best Picture award. Directed by John Madden the film tells an imaginary love affair involving an actress and playwright William Shakespeare while he is writing Romeo and Juliet.

Sliding doors, 1998

This British-American romantic drama film was written and directed by Peter Howitt and starring Gwyneth Paltrow and John Hannah. It is an interesting plot in which two parallel universes alternate. The central character’s life two paths depending on whether she catches or not a train and changing her life completely.

The Talented Mr. Ripley, 1999

Anthony Minguella wrote and directed this movie starring Matt Damon, Jude Law, Cate Blanchett and Gwyneth Paltrow. It is a physcological thriller which adapts a Patricia Highsmith ‘s novel. Ripley is a man trying to make a living in New York. He meeets a Princeton graduate and their lives changed.

Iron Man 3, 2013

Gwyneth has taken part in the previous two movies too but her role is bigger in the latest Iron Man film. Robert Downey Jr, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebeca Hall, Jon Favreau and Ben Kingley starred along with Gwyneth Paltrow in this movie when Tony Stark has been defeated by a terrorist called the Mandarin. But you know how superheroes are, they won’t give up so easily.

We cannot forget her role in Emma, A Perfect Murder, Hard Eight and many more, but the previous 5 are the best for us.
