It’s a wonderful life 1946

This American Christmas fantasy comedy drama film was produced and directed by Frank Capra in 1946. Based on a short story wrote by Philip Van Doren. It is considered one of the most loved films in American Cinema and now watching this film is a tradition during the Christmas time. James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore and Henry Travers are the stars of this great movie.

Miracle in 34 street 1947

Written and directed by George Seaton, this film is based on a story by Valentine David. Maureen O’hara, John Payne, Natalie Wood and Edmund Gwenn starts this movie which takes place between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day in New York City. Edmund Gween won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

Scrooged 1988 

This Christmas comedy film is a modernization of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol and it was produced and directed by Richard Donner. The movie stars Bill Murray, Karen Allen, Bobcat Goldthwait.

Home alone 1990

This comedy film was written and produced by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus and start Macaulay Culkin. A boy is left behind when his family flies to Paris for their Christmas vacation… Two burglars played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern have to contend with this boy.

 The Nightmare before Christmas 1993

This stop motion animated musical dark fantasy was directed by Henry Selick and produced by Tim Burton. It is the story of Jack Skellington, from Halloween Town who stumbles through a portal to “Christmas Town” and decided to celebrate the Holiday.

 Jingle all the way 1996

The Grinch 2000

Also known as Dr. Seuss’ how the Grinch stole Christmas, is a 2000 American Christmas comedy directed by Ron Howard and starring Jim Carrey, Jeffrey Tambor and Christine Baranski. It was the first Dr. Seuss book to be adapted into a full-length feature film.

Bad Santa 2003

 This black comedy was directed by Terry Zwigoff and starring Billy Bob Thornton, Tony Cox, Lauren Graham… The movie was dedicated to John Ritter’s movie as it was his last live action film.

Elf 2003

Will Ferrell stars this movie directed by Jon Favreau and written by David Berenbaum. James Caan, Zooey Deschanel, Mary Steenburgen, Daniel Tay, Ed Asner and Bob Newhart also starts this movie about one of Santa´s elves who learns of his true identity as a human and goes to New York City to meet his biological father.

Love Actually 2003
